Utah's blackout this year will happen after the sun sets.

The Pac-12 announced today that the Cal-Utah blackout game is set for a 7:45 start and will air on the Pac-12 Network. While a late start, it will mark a night game for what has traditionally been a nighttime atmosphere - as I think both Utah and BYU can attest that blackouts during the days rarely work.

Utah is set for another late start this Saturday against Oregon State - that game will kickoff at 8:30 Salt Lake time and air on ESPN2.

I like the start, even though it could be cold. We've seen, against BYU and USC this season, that later starts tend to improve the atmosphere and I anticipate a pretty rowdy crowd ... especially if the Utes can pull off an upset this weekend.
