Around SBN: Seahawks Trade for TE Kellen Winslow

Tim Davis to Florida

So rumors out there are that Tim Davis has left the U to coach the same position at Florida. It's being reported footballscoop.com who of course famously reported that Crowton had been hired.

Now if this were the case, it would really, really, really suck. While the size of our offensive line last year caused them to be dominated at times, as the season went along the OL drastically improved. Especially considering the amount of injuries, and other depth concerns we had. Personally losing Davis, is a bigger blow to the program than losing Norm Chow was, or even than losing Aaron Roderick might be.

Add into his work on the OL last year, he was supposed to be another ear, and another person for extremely young Offensive Coordinator Brian Johnson to rely on.

I'm hoping this turns out to be wrong, but the timing (the hiring of Finn), would seem to make this legitimate. Also adding to the legitimacy of this rumor is JuCo recruit OL Marc Pouvave tweeting out "Really another coach is gone?!"

Interesting

With all these defections do you think there are some greater issues to be concerned about internally? We didn’t even really see this type of a coaching blow while in the MWC

All of what defections?

Isn’t he the only defector? Schramm left for a promotion, as did Chow. Is there anybody else I’m missing?

Florida

Has a website that is reporting it based on ‘reliable sources’. I’ll need to hear more.

I’m not too worried about, perhaps Whit knew this was coming and that’s why he picked up another O-line coach?

Don't like it.

One year and done?

Dolphins and sharks are natural enemies. Dolphins are like, "Quit eating us," and sharks are like, "Stop smiling all the time, you morons."

Looking more and more legit.

Radio has said that Utah has announced it, although no press release is found yet. More and more players are tweeting about it, and another website says they have “confirmed it”.

Looks like Dan Finn will be the full on OL coach.

Personally, this is a big loss. Nothing against Dan Finn, but Davis was a huge get.

Couldn't agree more.

Now the most experienced Offensive Coach. The guy that Brian Johnson can go to and benefit from all his years of offensive coaching experience is…….

…. Aaron Roderick

I said as much on Twitter...

More disappointed with this than the Chow loss. A) it shows just how small-time we still are compared to programs like Florida and B) we lost a great, experienced coach in a year where we really need great, experienced coaches.

2012 is going to be a bumpy year.

Our 5th playcaller in 5 years.
our 4th OL Coach in 4 years.

General lack of experience on the offensive coaching side.
Major question mark at QB.
Replacing Bookend Tackles on the OL.

2012 is shaping up to be a very bumpy season.

Mo money, mo problems

“What’s going on?
I don’t know what they want from me
It’s like the more money we come across
The more problems we see.”

KW should play this over the loudspeakers at practice this year.
