Julian Jacobs, a 6'2", 170 pound point guard from Las Vegas has given his verbal commitment to Ute coach Larry Krystkowiak. He also had offers from St. Mary's and Santa Clara.

Cant find any stats from his junior year, but he averaged about 9.4 points as a sophomore. To me, the fact that we beat out St. Mary's for a recruit is pretty exciting. As user @Smilyguy1 on twitter noted to me, it will be interesting to watch him this year during his AAU play.

Another thing that I like is that this is a point guard who is 6'2"! We seemed to have an obsession with 5'11" and under guys for a while.

At any rate, I am encouraged from what I have seen from Larry K. it will be fun to see what he is able to do as we go froward. Things will certainly get exciting as we get into the signing period a month from now. GO UTES!
