Josh Hearlihy signed with the Utah basketball program back in November, however, Larry Krsytkowiak has asked him for a scholarship release, the LA Times is reporting.

Hearlihy was a senior from Harvard-Westlake, a prep school located in Los Angeles, California. He missed 14 games of his senior season due to an injury tied to his growing too quickly, however, he appears to have recovered. There is no indication why the program has asked Hearlihy to opt out, though it could be because of his injury. Now Hearlihy is stuck trying to find an alternative. He had originally been recruited by both Portland and Santa Clara.
