OK, spring ball's done, and a few surprises came out of the red white game, such as good LB play, a solid backup RB corps, and so on. However, there was one aspect of the spring that was surprising in a negative way. As mentioned by some in other discussions, Wynn came off as a bit lazy and lackadaisica. Whereas Wilson and Hays have worked their butts off and made the most of their opportunities, Wynn's come off as "eh" in spring games. I mean, I've been saying how his throwing motion is much better, his balls have more zip, and he's making good decisions. However, his fumble, his Int's, and some of the bad reads he made are starting to add up over the spring. Hopefully, I'm just judging to hard, but I'm scared that Wynn might have taken it to his head that he's the starter no matter what. If that's the case, that's on BJ and Whit's heads. Wynn definitely needs to step up in the fall considering that if BJ wants experience at the QB spot, he has Hays; if he wants talent, Wilson has that; and if he wants toughness, both Hansen and Wilson have that. Wynn needs to realize that he’s not irreplaceable and step up in fall camp or the ball should be handed to Hays or Wilson (my preference is Hays based on his experience and the fact that this spring he showed he’s put in the time and has improved immensely, but I would have NO problems with starting Wilson). However, I’ll withhold judgment until fall camp and hope I'm wrong, especially given all of the talent he has around him and the potential for this year's team.
