This must be the suspension rumored at by Big Beast and others for the past few days, but it was announced today that Brian Blechen will be suspended for the first three games of the season, meaning he will miss No. Col, USU, and TDS.
Big Beast, or anyone, do you have more information on what the infraction was. The school isn't saying. If you know, but don't wish to divulge, I fully understand and respect that opinion, but it also never hurts to ask.
Now for the impact this will have. Obviously we won't miss him against No. Colorado, and the loss will be minimal against USU. However I think it will hurt not having him against TDS for two reasons. First, Blechen is a hard hitter, and would have been great help coming up to keep Riley from scrambling out of the pocket as he is likely to do. Secondly I don't like the idea of throwing him directly into Conference play without any tune up.
That said, if he broke some rules, I respect coach Whit for doing the necessary thing.
