Just watched the ESPNU "Pac 12 Football Preview Show". Utah as a team in the Pac 12 got all of three minutes in the one hour show. When the lead-in started for the three minutes of Utah coverage, and they were showing segue Ute highlights, the ESPN talking heads mused something like "What the heck is a Ute, anyway?" No mention of the Utes as the leading contender for number 2 in Pac 12 South. No mention of Whittingham, but the four newbie coaches absorbed all of the air time that did talk about coaches. Brock Huard (sp?) with Matt Barkely and Robert Woods on the field, "demonstrating" their favorite play, got more air time than the entire Utah team.
At the end, Utah did get some real props, when the UCLA alumni analyst picked (projected) John White as the best running back and Star as the best defensive player in the Pac 12 for 2012. The USC alumni analyst was a real homer. Can't wait for the Pac 12 network to get up and running on DirecTV!!!
As a team, hope this lack of respect motivates the Utes to really kick some ass.
