Kevin Gemmell, Ted Miller's counterpart at ESPN's PAC-12 Blog, released his week-one bowl predictions this morning. He predicts: USC in the National Championship, Oregon in the Rose Bowl, Stanford in the Alamo Bowl, Washington in the Sun Bowl, Cal in the Las Vegas Bowl, UCLA in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, and Wazzau in the New Mexico Bowl. As for Utah, Gemmel has the Utes in the Holiday Bowl, the fourth-best bowl game a Pac-12 team could hope for. This reflects Miller's week-one power rankings for the conference, as Utah begins the season ranked fourth.
It is not unreasonable for us fans to expect the Utes to land a birth in the Holiday Bowl--or even the Alamo Bowl--this season. A 9-3 or 8-4 record would likely solidify Gemmell's prediction come season's end. I would certainly be more than okay with that. In fact, at this point, I consider anything less a disappointment.
Where do you think Utah will go bowling this season?
(I know we've already had this discussion, but there's nothing wrong with re-opening the debate, right?)
