In 2008, when I overvalued Utah, I looked like a freakin' genius as they climbed the rankings and eventually finished undefeated and second nationally. Now? Not so much. For the third consecutive year, I've been proven a bit too upbeat about Utah.

Oh well. No one takes the first few weeks of college football rankings seriously for that reason.

So, Utah is gone and probably won't enter the rankings for a while now (though, I guess they could if they get their crap together) - but they're not the only one. Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, and Arkansas also tumbled out of the rankings.

It goes to show just how fickle this sport can be sometimes.

The rankings after the jump.
