Posted something similar in the game thread, but Travis deserves his own post.
Travis was rarely healthy this season, but when he was, he was something special. Hell even when he was battered, beaten, and bedridden he was unforgettable.. I also don't believe its a coincidence that he became mistake prone in the game following the death of one of his best friends. And sure you could say he only played two games prior to that, but I don't recall a single throw in those first two games that you would consider a poor decision. Decision making was flawless. But I digress.....
Even tho he thew 3 picks in the OSU game, it was a consensus opinion that his fantastic play, save those 3 throws, kept us in that game. Then the kid played the best 6 INT (at least 3 not his fault, arguably 4) game football has ever seen with a fever of 100+. Let me ask you this, is Utah in those games at all with Schulz at QB? I dont think so, at least for sure not the Oregon State game. And I sincerely mean that as a compliment to Travis, rather than a diss to Adam.
Then TW went on to beat Stanford bruised from the waste up with a shredded hand. Far and away the best victory since the Sugar Bowl. He took 7 or 8 brutal hits every game primarily due to a porous O-line, and got back up time and time again. I can't tell you how many times I saw him take hard shot and thought, "this is the one that keeps him on the ground"
Allow me to take this opportunity to reiterate….TRAVIS YOU ARE A FUCKING WARRIOR. Despite a tumultuous season and some costly INT’s, he is one of my favorite Utes of all time. Bar none. Tells you all you need to know about the kid.
Here’s to a 2014 with a healthy QB, and heres to hoping it is no. 7 taking those snaps.
