Utah has added another quarterback to its roster.
Kendal Thompson, who played in two games this past season with the Sooners, will transfer to the University of Utah prior to the start of this season. Since he is set to graduate in May, Thompson will be eligible to play when the season kicks off later this year.
Thompson signed with the Sooners in 2009 as a three-star quarterback out of Moore, Oklahoma. He saw limited action in 2013 and announced last month he would be transferring. He very likely has two years of eligibility left and should make a push for the starting spot, along with both Travis Wilson, who seems destined to return, and Conner Manning. Of course, this also means Utah now has an abundance of quarterbacks, which might also suggest one or two will be looking to transfer in the coming weeks and months.
I guess we'll see.
