New Blog: Cowboy Altitude for Wyoming Fans!

A Saturday chalk full of excitement

There aren't many Saturdays where you can sit back the entire day and enjoy a Utah victory. These are actually days I love most, knowing your football team has already won while you watch other teams go down.

It's even better when Saturday provides you with some interesting games, season changing performances and a preview of Utah's next opponents.

So with that said, here are some important games I've circled for today.

Penn State @ Indiana:

Indiana, at 5-2, continues their march toward the school's first bowl game since 1993. A victory over Penn State would most likely give them that achievement. Penn State, however, is rolling, coming off a dominant win over Wisconsin last week.

Wyoming @ Air Force:

This is a big game for Wyoming, who is looking to bounce back after last week's loss to New Mexico. If the Cowboys are going to compete for the conference championship, they'll need a win here. Air Force on the other hand can close in on bowl contention with a victory. Currently the Falcons are 5-2 on the season and two wins away from guaranteeing the school its first non-losing season in 4 years.

Texas A&M @ Nebraska

Which program will fire their coach faster, the Aggies or Cornhuskers? This game is essentially one of two lame duck coaches, who both will be looking for jobs come the holiday season.

Florida @ Kentucky

Who would have thought Kentucky would not only be the favorite in this game, but the higher ranked team? Not I. Well that's exactly what we're seeing, as the 8th ranked Wildcats host the 14th ranked Gators. Florida can't afford a loss, especially with tough games against Georgia and South Carolina looming.

Cal @ UCLA

Hopefully UCLA can pull off the upset and make some noise. Anything to bolster Utah's 44-6 win over the Bruins earlier this season. It won't be easy, though, especially with a hungry Cal team looking to get back on the winning track after losing to Oregon State last week.

Colorado State @ UNLV

Watch this game (if it's on TV) just to get an idea of what Utah will be facing next week. Only the strong are advised to watch, however, as this could be an ugly one.

Auburn @ LSU

Tiger versus Tiger and a nice rivalry game to boot. The LSU Tigers are still in the national championship hunt, however, a loss here might undo their chance of not only playing for the national championship, but the SEC championship as well.

And there you have it. Some of the most important, at least in my mind, games of the week. Sit back, relax and enjoy these games, knowing the Utes are already victorious and quickly becoming one the hottest teams in America.
