Utes to play Navy in the Poinsettia Bowl

Well it's official, Utah and Navy will kickoff the bowl season December 20th in San Diego's Poinsettia Bowl. It marks Utah's fifth straight bowl game and the first time Navy and the Utes will meet on the gridiron.

While I'm not jacked to play a non-BCS team, looking at who other Mountain West teams get in their bowl game, I'm not too disappointed.

Here's a rundown of some other interesting bowl games.

New Mexico Bowl

Nevada vs. New Mexico

December 22nd, ESPN

Las Vegas Bowl

UCLA vs. BYU

December 22nd, ESPN

Texas Bowl

TCU vs. Houston

December 28th, NFL Network

Armed Forces Bowl

California vs. Air Force

December 31st, ESPN

Sugar Bowl

Hawaii vs. Georgia

January 1st, FOX

BCS Championship Game

Ohio State vs. LSU

January 7th, FOX

So New Mexico goes bowling, but only because of their backyard bowl. TCU gets in, playing Houston and BYU matches up AGAIN against UCLA. Air Force's game against Cal could be interesting, but Cal has really fallen off this year.

Man, this conference has some pathetic bowls.

Bowls
Our conference has the worst bowls it has had for a long time.  It's so stupid.  Oh well.  I was so mad last night when they announced it would be LSU and Ohio State in the championship.  LSU doesn't belong there.  They were number seven, they beat Tennessee and now they are in the NC I think that was retarded.  Hawaii should have been there even tho they didn't play anyone.  They were still the only undefeated team.

Congrats
Congrats on your bowl appearance...seems as if the entire conference got screwed by the bowl selection process. I am of the opinion there needs to be changes to our pathetic conference...otherwise BYU and Utah will have to resort to the boring approach of weak schedules like Hawaii so we can get some recognition.  Otherwise we will always get mixed up with the WAC, which has proven to be a better conference as far as publicity and the BCS is concerned.
