Utah tight ends and co-special teams coordinator Jay Boulware will leave the Utes to become the running backs coach for Iowa State University. The Cyclones recently hired former Texas defensive coordinator Gene Chizik as their head coach, he is expected to name Boulware to his staff this coming week.
Boulware spent two seasons at Utah and was a big part of their recruiting pull in the state of Texas. He recruited within the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro-plex, as well as central and east Texas. Prior to joining Utah, Boulware was the running backs coach for Stanford in 2004, as well as spending three seasons with Arizona.
It's unclear who will replace Boulware, though I'm sure Whittingham will find a replacement rather quickly. This coaching change appears to have had no effect on Utah's recruiting class this season.
