La Canada's Lavelle Peterson commits to the Utes

Lavelle Peterson, a running back out of La Canada, California, has committed to Utah. It appears Peterson will walk-on this season and then grab a scholarship for the 2008 year.

Peterson is a 2,444 yard rusher with 27 touchdowns. He averaged more than nine yards per carry, and had three 300-yard-plus performances. He had been considering Washington State, UCLA and Arizona State along with a few other non-BCS schools.

Though not much is known about him, there is a highlight video of him up on YouTube. And while it's never an exact science when it comes to watching game film, especially in the lower high school divisions, it does wet the appetite.
