Utes pulling in 2nd best non-AQ recruiting class

Utah Utes Top prospect: QB Derrick Brown (Murrieta, Calif./Vista Murrieta) The Utes are putting together one of their better classes under coach Kyle Whittingham, and selling future Pac-10 play to recruits appears to be paying dividends. Utah already has 17 commits in its well-balanced class. Brown is a steal and should be a highly productive quarterback thanks to his great dual-threat skill set and athleticism out of the spread. Other schools may have passed over offensive tackle Daniel Kristensen (Salt Lake City/Cottonwood) because of his lighter frame, but we see a lineman with very good feet, agility and a high ceiling for physical development. Future depth has been added at receiver with several system-fitting prospects, including Charles Henderson (New Orleans/McDonogh).

Colorado to wait until 2012 to join the Pac-12

Which means the Utes will have one season of play in a conference of 11 members. Thoughts about this?

Pre-Snap Read with great Utah preview

Probably one of the best previews out there yet of Utah.

Crazy Lady among ESPN's Super Fans

18. Terri Jackson (Utah) There aren't many people who would find the nickname "Crazy Lady" to be flattering. Terri Jackson is one of them who does. Having graduated more than three decades ago from Utah, she still has the energy of a college student, which she demonstrates with her regular pre-fourth-quarter dance routine that involves a lot of shoulder shakes and flying fists. The entire stadium turns to her before the final 15 minutes, with the students chanting, "Cra-zy La-dy." She's been doing it since 2000. Jackson said she and her husband might hit the road for each game in the 2011 season to check out all the new venues in the Utes' next conference. Pac-10 fans, you've been warned.
