Jim Boylen, who led Utah to the 2009 Mountain West Conference tournament championship, a share of the MWC regular-season title and a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, has signed a new five-year contract. Under the new terms, Boylen will make $850,000 a year--a figure that could increase to $1 million with bonuses.

Jim Boylen a candidate for the Arizona job?

Rumors have attached Boylen's name to the Arizona job now that USC head coach Tim Floyd turned their offer down earlier this week. I'm not expecting anything to come from this, since I don't believe Boylen has the resume to get too much of a look from a school like Arizona, but it's an interesting development. We'll see what happens.
