If Utah football ever built a statue, who should they honor?
Ron McBride announced his retirement yesterday. Ute fans owe him a great debt of gratitude for what he did at Utah.
Utah football has seen its share of blowout losses to BYU on its own home field. Saturday, they finally gave them a taste of their own medicine.
We're inching closer and closer to the 2010 season. This video is from 1995 and Utah's win over the Aggies. The Utes finished the season 7-4 and won a share of the WAC that year. 1995 was an interesting season for Utah. They were coming off that great 1994 campaign and all four of their losses were by a touchdown or less. That year they had seven home games and yet, only managed seven wins. Interestingly enough, though, all four of their losses came at Rice Stadium. 1995 was truly a "what if..." season. Thanks to eekyv for the video.
The forefathers of Utah football made this Pac-10 invite possible. Without them, it's unlikely we're even on the national radar, let alone a new member of a BCS conference.
Years ago, people were always talking about BYU leaving the conference, not Utah. People said BYU ought to be in the Pac-10 or Big 12 — they are too good for the WAC or the Mountain West. Utah was never in anybody’s thoughts about going to another conference. But it’s all changed.
What if there was a college football playoff and how would it have altered the Utah football program?
