Playing in front of a large contingent of family and friends, Jessica Walker had a kill and two blocks, while fellow Houston native Mary Ellen Luck had four digs and an ace. Elsewhere, the No. 2 Stanford women's soccer team had its game against No. 20 Georgetown postponed until Monday at 9 a.m. PST as a result of Hurricane Irene.

As reported by the Hartford Courant's John Altavilla, Stanford and UConn have agreed to a two year extension to their regular season women's basketball series. Geno Auriemma: "We've played them in the last three Final Fours and I hope we make it four times this season."
