I came down to earth last week, going 44-16 on the week. That puts me at 159-34 on the season, or correctly predicting 82% of the games played so far. Not a bad number, however it's one that continues to decline each week. Oh and let me just say, thanks Notre Dame! They're the only team I've falsely predicted each week. In week one I thought Georgia Tech would upset the Irish and I was wrong. In week two I thought Penn State would walk out of South Bend with a victory and I was wrong. So last week I finally jump on the Irish bandwagon and what do they go and do? Lose! Not only lose, but get completely humiliated by Michigan. Luck of the Irish my ass.
Enough ranting, here are the picks and a quick look at some key games...
Week four predictions
Thursday game predictions
Georgia Tech: 24
Virginia: 10
Friday game predictions
Nevada: 31
Northwestern: 17
Saturday game predictions
Virginia Tech: 38
Cincinnati: 14
Clemson: 42
North Carolina: 21
Michigan: 24
Wisconsin: 21
Over the years Michigan has followed up a big with a bad loss and that could happen again this week. Wisconsin, though not as good as they have been, will be a challenge and an unfocused Michigan team might drop this game. I think Michigan still wins, however it should be close and Wisconsin could pull the upset.
Iowa: 38
Illinois: 10
Purdue: 28
Minnesota: 21
Louisville: 42
Kansas State: 17
Georgia: 35
Colorado: 14
Kent State: 17
Bowling Green: 14
Pittsburgh: 49
Citadel: 3
Navy: 28
Tulsa: 24
This will be a good non-BCS game and Navy impressed me with a dominate win over Stanford last week. Tulsa I think was a bit overhyped heading into the season and the Midshipmen should win, though it will be close.
Missouri: 34
Ohio: 17
Rutgers: 41
Howard: 6
Auburn: 56
Buffalo: 7
TDS: 42
Utah State: 10
Northern Illinois: 35
Indiana State: 10
Central Michigan: 17
Eastern Michigan: 14
UCLA: 24
Washington: 21
Texas: 42
Iowa State: 14
Cal: 35
Arizona State: 28
This will be a great offensive battle and the first test Arizona State faces all season. If the Sun Devils are going to win this game, they need to play better than they did last week against Colorado. Cal on the other hand has rolled to two dominate victories since their opening season loss to Tennessee.
Florida State: 24
Rice: 10
UConn: 21
Indiana: 14
Alabama: 17
Arkansas: 10
Ohio State: 28
Penn State: 14
Penn State does not look that impressive this season, but they should give the Buckeyes at least a fight early on.
Tennessee: 24
Marshall: 10
Wyoming: 28
Air Force: 24
West Virginia: 45
East Carolina: 13
LA Lafayette: 14
N.C. A&T: 3
UTEP: 31
New Mexico: 21
Washington State: 24
Stanford: 14
Akron: 21
North Texas: 7
Wake Forest: 28
Ole Miss: 14
Maryland: 35
Florida Internationa: 17
San Jose State: 35
Cal Poly: 14
Ball State: 42
North Dakota State: 17
Western Michigan: 31
Temple: 7
Toledo: 42
McNeese State: 10
Texas Tech: 56
SE Louisiana: 7
Texas A&M: 28
Louisiana Tech: 14
Vanderbilt: 42
Tennessee State: 14
Oklahoma: 48
Middle Tennessee State: 13
South Carolina: 28
Florida Atlantic: 10
Kansas: 24
South Florida: 14
Baylor: 21
Army: 10
Syracuse: 28
Miami (Ohio): 14
UAB: 21
Mississippi State: 10
Nebraska: 42
Troy: 14
Florida: 35
Kentucky: 13
USC: 48
Arizona: 7
Boston College: 21
NC State: 14
Utah: 35
San Diego State: 21
LSU: 42
Tulane: 14
Boise State: 35
Hawaii: 24
Hawaii will give Boise State a tough game on the Blue Turf, but the Broncos offense should overpower the Warriors' defense -- if you can even call it a defense.
SMU: 28
Arkansas State: 17
Michigan State: 35
Notre Dame: 28
I'm off the Notre Dame bandwagon, which means they'll win this week just to spite me. However Michigan State generally does well to start the season before they fall flat once Big Ten play starts. They defeated the Irish last year at South Bend and I think Notre Dame will still be reeling after last week's thrashing.
Oklahoma State: 31
Houston: 24
Oregon State: 28
Idaho: 14
That's the week four picks. Don't take too much stock in them, as I'm trending downward with each passing week. Maybe that'll end this week...though I highly doubt it.
