There will be one more power ranking poll after the bowl season. This, however, is for the end of the regular season, where one team clearly is in a league of their own (sadly)...
No team team of the week/weak this time, but there will be one for the final bowl season.

BYU has done something no other team in Mountain West history has ever done, they've gone undefeated in conference play two years in a row. The Cougars ended the season with a big victory over rival Utah and then an offensive drubbing of San Diego State. Now it's onto the Las Vegas Bowl and a rematch with the disappointing Bruins of UCLA.

What a season for Troy Calhoun and the Falcons. I don't think anyone could have predicted a winning season, let alone 9-wins. Now a big game against the depleted Cal Bears in the Armed Forces Bowl.

The Utes appeared to be on the cusp of defeating BYU, winning 9 regular season games and rolling to an 8 game winning streak. Then the defense let up, the Cougars scored and a promising season went out on a down note. The Utes do have a chance at redemption against Navy in the Poinsettia Bowl, but does it really even matter? I doubt a victory will cure the ills of a BYU loss.

If it weren't for the New Mexico Bowl, the Lobos would not be bowling this season. However, they take on Nevada and will look to win 9 games in like...well...forever.

The Frogs finished strong and now get a chance to finish even stronger with a bowl game against Houston. It has not been the season many expected from TCU, but not all is lost and maybe they can build some momentum heading into the '08 season.

It looks like the Aztecs have found their offense. While they lost to BYU, they did put up some solid numbers and will look to make the big leap next year. If Chuck Long can't, then don't be surprised if San Diego State is searching for their 3rd head coach in nearly as many years.

It was great seeing the Rams send Lubick out with a victory. Maybe some fresh blood will revitalize this stagnant program.

Neither of these teams are good and share the bottom of the rankings. Congratulations, guys. |
