As reported here last Wednesday, the Utes and Michigan Wolverines are close to finalizing a deal to play in the 2008 season. This would be the first time the two met since Utah's 10-7 loss to Michigan in 2002.
While I reported that it appeared the Utes had an open date that coincided with Michigan, this has changed. Michigan now plays Wisconsin on the 27th of September next year, a week Utah has available. However Michigan currently has a bye the first week of the season, most likely meaning the Utes will push back the Washington State game (either to later in the season, or to another season). That could mean Utah will open the 2008 season against Michigan in Ann Arbor.
I'll keep you up to date on the news regarding the possibility of Michigan being added to Utah's schedule.
