The Mountain West has released the 2008 football schedule and it appears Utah's home opener will be a conference game, the second week of the season against UNLV.
Here's the schedule:

9/6 | UNLV | 6 PM MT, mtn. |
9/13 | @ Utah State | 6 PM MT, TBD |
9/20 | @ Air Force | 2 PM MT, Versus |
9/27 | Weber State | 6 PM MT, NO TV |
10/2 | Oregon State | 7 PM MT, Versus |
10/11 | @ Wyoming | 12 PM MT, mtn. |
10/18 | CSU | 12 PM MT, mtn. |
11/1 | @ UNM | 7:30 PM MT, mtn. |
11/6 | TCU | 6 PM MT, CBS College Sports |
11/15 | @ SDSU | 5 PM PT, mtn. |
11/22 | BYU | 4 PM MT, Versus/mtn. |
I actually like how this schedule breaks down. Utah only has back-to-back road games once, and one of those games is against Utah State. That UNLV game is definitely going to be interesting after what happened last year and the words Mike Sanford had for the Utah coaches and players after their victory.
Gotta love the day the schedule is released, because it means we're just that much closer to the season kicking off -- even if it's still months away!
