Mike Lewis is reporting that Stan Johnson has been hired by Boylen to fill one of Utah's vacancies at the assistant spot. Johnson is reported to be an avid Utah fan, who grew up locally and attended Taylorsville High.
He has spent the last year at Cal State Northridge, prior to that, he was an assistant at Southwest Baptist, where he helped the Bearcats to a 50-30 record. Johnson also had a stint at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. He is only 27-years old and has ties to both California and Utah.
Johnson played college ball at Southern Utah University from 1998 to 2002, where he was a team captain and starter for one year. He left Southern Utah and finished his senior season at Bemidji State, where he averaged 13.5 points a game and was named all-conference honorable mention.
