Whittingham: Offense not where it needs to be

Lya Wodraska at the Tribune is covering fall camp and has some possible disconcerting news, Utah's offense, according to Whittingham, is not at the level it should be.

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham has given some of the credit to the offense's troubles in moving the ball to the defense, but said the offense still has a long ways to go.

"We're not where we need to be 12 days out, we certainly have to make a lot of progress in 12 days," he said.

Asked specifically the areas that are lacking, and Whittingham replied, 'it's everywhere, across the board."

Not sure what to make of this, but it could be some potential troubling news, since Utah's offense is supposed to be extremely good. Of course, maybe Whittingham has learned his lesson about overhyping the team and is now trying to ground expectations. Who knows, but this will definitely be something to keep an eye on.
