Utah's offense continues to steal the show at fall camp. Hopefully that isn't a sign the defense is a step or two behind.
Of course, this is Kyle Whittingham's defense we're talking about and I think a great deal of fans give the inexperienced defense the benefit of the doubt because of just that. When was the last time a Whittingham defense, over the course of a season, didn't play at least well enough?
I can't think of a time in the recent history of the program and especially since he's taken over as coach.
In 2005, his teams gave up 24 points per game. In 2006: 19.8; in 2007: 18.8; in 2008: 17.2; and in 2009: 20.2. Not bad.
So should we expect anything different from this year's Utes?
