Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist could be heading to Utah

Utah's quarterback situation has been unstable ever since Jordan Wynn went down earlier this season.

There might be a bit of help on the way, however.

Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist, who saw limited action this season, has officially announced he will leave the Irish after this season and potentially finish his career at another school.

Utah is a possibility.

Wisconsin, Utah and San Diego State are among rumored landing spots for Crist, who was the nation's No. 2 quarterback in the recruiting class of 2008, according to Rivals.com. Crist sat out his first year at Notre Dame, tore his ACL in 2009 and then tore his patellar tendon after nine starts in 2010.

Since Crist is expected to graduate this month, he would be eligible to play next season and could even be on campus by spring.

This would definitely add a new dynamic to Utah's quarterback situation if he were to come to Salt Lake City and could bolster the position greatly, especially if Wynn is not ready to go in '12.
