Wilson banged up, questionable for USC

The injury he sustained the last couple games doesn't appear to be season ending at this point.

Kyle Whittingham announced at his weekly press conference today that if Travis Wilson is ready to go, he'll start this week against USC. However, that is not a given and both Adam Schulz and Conner Manning will take reps to decide who gets the potential start this Saturday.

It's a decent amount of news considering a rumor had sprung up over the night that Wilson would be lost for the season.

Still, I would be surprised if Wilson is starting against the Trojans. He seemed pretty banged up out there and with a bye week after the USC game, it offers an opportunity to heal his hand heading into a crucial point of the season.

Hopefully he can get better and return to lead this offense, and team, to bowl eligibility. But right now, count on him not playing this weekend.

We should know more on Wilson's injury later this week - and whether it's serious enough to sideline him for the remainder of the season.
