Former Utah assistant coach Aaron Alford, who coached Utah's defensive backs from 2007 to 2008, as well as running backs in 2009, has passed away after suffering a major heart attack. Alford also served as Director of High School Relations prior to leaving the program to join the Park City High School football staff.
Alford successfully oversaw the development of Brice McCain, Sean Smith and running back Eddie Wide in 2009.
Obviously the thoughts of Block U, and I'm sure all Ute fans, are with his family and friends as they cope with their loss. Alford was just 39 years old. He leaves behind a wife and three children.
