Utes Move Up in the Polls

Without playing a game, Utah benefitted from the key losses of teams above them in the polls to both move up in the AP Poll and slide into the Amway Coaches Poll.

Even without playing a game this past weekend, the University of Utah football team moved up in the two major polls. The 4-1 Utes check in at No. 20 in the AP Poll, up from 24 the previous week. They boys in crimson and white also made their first appearance of the season in the Amway/USA Today Coaches Poll at No. 23, which is, interestingly, below two-loss Clemson, Texas A&M, and Stanford.

The Utes next game is Thursday at 8 p.m. MT in Corvallis, Ore. against the Oregon State Beavers (4-1, 1-1). Another road win could move the Utes past the two-loss teams solidly into the Top 20, as well as keep them on track in the Pac-12 South division race and the conference title hunt.
