This conference is nuts! Just when you think you know something, you're proven wrong almost immediately. Whether it's Oregon being down or Washington State taking that next step, it's hard to rank teams that are just all over the place. With the addition of some new contributors to Block U, we've added their ballots to our weekly poll, which has created some clarity, and eliminated ties.
This weeks poll actually looks more like the ones at the beginning of the season at the bottom and the top, the middle 8 teams are jumbled up, however.
Here are our individual ballots for this week:
Shane | Steven | Alex | Adia | Daniel | Joseph | Andrew | Adam | |
1 | Oregon | Oregon | Oregon | Oregon | Oregon | Oregon | Oregon | Oregon |
2 | Stanford | USC | ASU | USC | Stanford | USC | ASU | USC |
3 | Utah | Arizona | USC | Washington | Washington | Stanford | Utah | Stanford |
4 | USC | Utah | Arizona | Stanford | Utah | Utah | Stanford | Arizona |
5 | Arizona | Washington | Stanford | Arizona | Arizona | Washington | USC | Utah |
6 | Washington | Stanford | Washington | ASU | ASU | Arizona | Arizona | Washington |
7 | ASU | ASU | Utah | Utah | USC | UCLA | Washington | UCLA |
8 | UCLA | OSU | UCLA | UCLA | UCLA | ASU | OSU | ASU |
9 | OSU | UCLA | OSU | OSU | OSU | OSU | Cal | OSU |
10 | Cal | Cal | Cal | Cal | Cal | Cal | UCLA | Cal |
11 | WSU | WSU | WSU | WSU | WSU | WSU | WSU | WSU |
12 | Colorado | Colorado | Colorado | Colorado | Colorado | Colorado | Colorado | Colorado |
At the bottom of most our polls are still Washington State and Colorado, and it is a consensus decision for everybody. Oregon returns as the consensus No. 1 team in all of our polls after their big win over UCLA up in Pasadena this past week. Utah is 4th or better for most the team, and UCLA has plummeted for everyone, being no better than 7th in any ballot! And to think that UCLA was my preseason favorite to win the conference, that seems like years ago now.

The 'any given Saturday' league remains just that. Arizona lost to USC at home, Washington rolled over Cal in Berkley, Oregon thumped UCLA, and Stanford handled WSU - mostly not predictable outcomes. The craziest thing is that Pac-12 road teams in conference play are 14-4. So home field advantage hasn't meant anything so far. As of now, it looks like Oregon is the favorite to represent the North in the Pac-12 title game, but for the South, just draw a name out of a hat and you'll have just as much luck. Regardless, this makes the Pac-12 an extremely fun league to watch week-in-and-out... unlike some other "B1G" conferences out there.
What are your thoughts on our week eight rankings? Are we close? Which team(s) do we have over/underrated?
