Hackett, Phillips, Orchard and Clay named Midseason All-Americans

The Utes are getting some nice in-season recognition on various All-America lists.

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Utah football has got off to a nice start this 2014 campaign, with a 4-1 record, two of which are on the road, with one over then No. 8 UCLA in the Rose Bowl. Due to that good start, and some great individual performances, some Utes have been placed on some midseason All-American teams.

Needless to say, so far this season, Utah has been special on special teams, which is why we see three prominent members of Utah's special teams named midseason All-Americans. Tom Hackett, Andy Phillips and Kaelin Clay all had their names on at least one All-America team.

Tom Hackett was named to the following teams: 1st team CBSSports.com - 1st team ESPN.

Kaelin Clay was also named to the CBSSports.com 1st team as a punt returner.

Andy Phillips was named to the 2nd team SI.com All-America team.

Defensively, Nate Orchard has been a monster so far this season. He was named to the CBSSports.com 1st team defensive All-American team. Pretty solid day for Orchard, since he was also added to the Bednarik Award watch list as well today.

Any names missing that you think should have gotten considered?
