Utah lost one of their commits for the 2015 class when three-star offensive tackle Brandon Bowen decommitted. Bowen is a local product from Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah. The 6-7, 315-pound offensive tackle recently took a visit to Ohio State and apparently loved his visit.
Bowen plays at one of the biggest positions of need for Utah in the 2015 class, offensive tackle. Utah also lost the commitment of JUCO offensive tackle Zach Lindsay earlier this season. While Bowen likely would not have been a contributor for Utah as a true freshman, his ideal size made him a player who could be very good for Utah later in his playing career.
He took an official visit to Ohio State on Nov. 1, and reports are, he loved his trip. The thing that worried me most was the fact that Bowen was not excited to visit Utah. Even players that knew for sure they were going to Utah (like four-star offensive tackle Jackson Barton last year) were very excited to take their official visit to Utah. Bowen has not set an official visit to Utah and may not. The thing that Utah has going for them is that Bowen is really close to the Barton family (including current Utah safety/outside linebacker commit Cody Barton). Things are not done in Bowen's recruitment, but it is not looking good for Utah right now.
