Back in the days of the BCS, it was common for a team to lose and plummet the next week in the polls. It was assumed, by me anyway, that the Utes would drop this week in the newest CFP top-25 poll, after losing on the road to Arizona State. Well, it appears we are definately in a new era.
Tuesday night, the 2nd CFP poll was announced, and Utah stayed right where they were last week, at No. 17. A shocker to me, for sure. It appears the committee has a lot of respect for the Pac-12 conference, and the Utes. The Utes lost to ASU, in Tempe, by three, in overtime. ASU is now ranked 9th in the CFP poll. It appears that, at least in some measure, to the CFP committee that was a "good" loss.
Next up, the now No. 4 ranked Oregon Ducks come into Rice-Eccles Stadium. UCLA and Arizona are also ranked in the top-25, both right behind Utah at 18th and 19th.
