Practice on Tuesday did not have much to report. The team did drills during the media viewing session, but there are several good interviews from practice on Tuesday. The team scrimmaged during the media viewing session on Wednesday.
Quarterbacks:
Both quarterbacks Travis Wilson and Kendal Thompson made some nice plays in the air and on the ground. With such a limited sample size, it is hard to say who looked better, and the starting quarterback will not be announced until the first offensive play against Oregon.
Running Backs:
Devontae Booker continued his strong play. Troy McCormick and Bubba Poole also got carries. McCormick's speed is pretty incredible. He has fallen off the radar a bit since fall camp, but he impressed today. Poole also made several nice plays in practice as well.
Wide Receivers/Tight Ends:
The wide receivers for the most part did a nice job in practice today. Freshman Jameson Field had the catch of the day today. He has impressed me the last few weeks in practice. Wide receivers Tim Patrick and Kaelin Clay and tight ends Westlee Tonga and Siale Fakailoatonga all had catches.
Defense:
The defense looked good today. Eric Rowe was playing and is expected to play against Oregon per head coach Kyle Whittingham. The front seven generated some pressure as usual.
Kyle Whittingham on Tuesday. He covers topics including the quarterback competition and the status of players like Eric Rowe and Tevin Carter:
