Utes drop out of Coaches Poll, drop to #25 in AP

After two tough weeks, the Utes find themselves at #25 in the AP Poll.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Here is your weekly update on the two pointless polls. After dropping their 2nd consecutive game, the Utes have dropped out of the Coaches Poll, and dropped to No. 25 in the AP Poll. The Utes, as well as USC and Stanford, are receiving votes in the Coaches Poll.

It's kind of crazy to think of a three loss Utah team still getting respect nationally. Especially from the likes of a Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News, who has the Utes at 15th in his poll. We're definitely not in the Mountain West anymore. Of course, the real poll is the College Football Playoff poll, which will be interesting this week. I think this coming week's poll will show if the committee actually watches these late night games, or if they just see the scores the next day. I believe the Utes should check it at around 20th in the CFP poll, but we'll find out Tuesday at 5:30pm MT.
