The Aussie wins the award for the nations best punter.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oy, oy, oy! Utah's punter, Tom Hackett, was named the Ray Guy Award winner Thursday night, at the College Football Awards Show.

Hackett was a major weapon for the Utes this season, as he was constantly able to flip the field, and down opponents within their own 10 and five yard line. On the season he led the nation in punts inside the 10 with 19, and punts inside the 20. He dropped 45.5% of his punts inside the 20-yard line, which led the Pac-12. Hackett also had six punts inside the 5-yard line, which ranked third in the nation, and first in the Pac-12 in punt average, at 47 yards per punt. Hackett was also named the Ray Guy Award Player of the Week three times this season, and was also named the College Football Performance Awards National Punter of the Week vs. UCLA.

Today Hackett was also named to multiple All-America lists, including CBS and Walter Camp.

Hackett is just a junior this season, and will have a chance to repeat next season.
