The post-season awards just keep rolling in for Utah punter Tom Hackett, kick returner Kaelin Clay, and defensive end Nate Orchard, as The Sporting News and American Football Coaches Association announced their respective All America teams. (Both teams are among the five the NCAA uses to determine consensus All Americans.)

The Sporting News named Utes kick returner/wide receiver Clay a first team All American today, while teammates Hackett and Orchard made the second team.

For the AFCA team, only Hackett was named to the team. Defensive ends Joey Bosa (Ohio State), Shane Ray (Missouri), and Vic Beasley (Clemsen) were all chosen to the team ahead of Orchard. Below is a statistical comparison of the four defensive linemen:

NATE ORCHARD (6-4, 255) - 81 tackles, 17.5 sacks (2nd), 1.46 sacks per game (1st), 20 tackles for loss (T 5th), 1.7 tackles for loss per game (T 3rd).

Joey Bosa (6-5, 285) - 50 tackles, 13.5 sacks (5th), 1.08 sacks per game (T 3rd), 20 tackles for loss (T 5th), 1.5 tackles for loss per game (T 7th).

Shane Ray (6-3, 245) - 14 sacks (3rd), 1.04 sacks per game (5th), 21 tackles for loss (3rd), 1.6 tackles for loss per game (6th).

Vic Beasley - 29 tackles, 11 sacks (T 8th), 0.92 sacks per game (9th), 18.5 tackles for loss (T 9th), 1.5 tackles for loss per game (T 7th).

Orchard leads in every statistical category except tackles for loss, where he is just a single TFL shy of Ray's group-leading total of 21. It's also worth noting that Utah sophomore defensive end Hunter Dimick is nipping on Beasley's heels in sacks (10) and sacks per game (0.91).
