Utah football recruiting: Travis Waller, Keyshawn Johnson Jr. offered by Utes

Who have the Utes offered this past week? The list includes a quarterback, a wide receiver, a defensive back

Stephen Dunn

Off the heels of an important recruiting commitment for next season, who has Utah offered for the 2014 season?

2015 offers

Anaheim (Ca.) Servite dual threat quarterback Travis Waller is a big-time Utah target. Washington, BYU, Arizona, and Northwestern have all received offers.

Napa (Ca.) wide receiver Austin Aaron landed his ninth offer this weekend from Utah. He recently visited USC practice and was an outstanding performer at a Rivals Camp, earning MVP honors.

"A good student, Aaron is a matchup problem on the outside," NorCalPreps.com analyst Douglas Benton wrote on the web site Monday. "He is a good route runner, gets out of his breaks well and has good hands. He doesn't have elite speed, but uses a long running stride to create separation.

Aaron holds offers from several prestigious academic schools, including Cal, Duke, Harvard and Yale.

Chandler (Az.) Hamilton defensive end Caleb Peart recently picked up a Utah offer. ASU, Boise State, Cal and Northwestern have all already offered. Peart seems very much interested in the success of Utah defenders at the next level.

Upland (Ca.) safety Kameron Powell also has that Utah offer. Powell holds offers from several other Pac-12 schools, including Colorado, Oregon State, Washington and Washington State.

Draper (Ut.) Corner Canyon offensive tackle Branden Bowen also received an offer, which is his first on the year. Bowen has been a frequent visitor to Utah spring practice. You can watch his highlight reel below, which is full of solid blocks.

Future prospects

We move into the future, and check out an offer to a 2016 prospect in Salt Lake City (UT.) Brighton athlete Simi Fehoko. Fehoko picked up his first two offers from Clemson and Utah.

Brian Swinney has more from Fehoko on his Utah offer.

"Coach Tuiaki called me and told me they wanted to offer. Utah is a great program with great academics. I grew up a Ute fan and am friends with Jackson Barton and his younger brother (who was sitting next to him during the interview). My parents were really excited about the Utah offer."

Finally, 2017 Mission Viejo wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson Jr. got a Utah offer too. Yeah. THAT Keyshawn. The offers are already flying early from the likes of Arizona State, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State and Tennessee.
