Kovacevic
The Runnin’ Utes announced today that junior center Marko Kovacevic will not return to the team for the 2014-2015 season, instead returning to his native Serbia. Utes HC Larry Krystkowiak said that Kovacevic "has decided not to return due to family issues, and we wish him and his family the best during this trying time." The 6-11 Serbian averaged just 1.7 points (shooting 60% on field goals and 75% from the free throw line) and 0.7 rebounds in 4.9 minutes per game. However, this marks the third player from the 2013-2014 team to leave the university, following the departure of swingmen Ahmad Fields and Princeton Onwas.
We were also told today that former Utah wide receiver Kevin Dyson will be announcing the Tennessee Titans first round selection at this year's NFL draft. The honor comes for a former first round selection (16th overall) known for his last minute touchdown in the 1999 playoffs on a play still known as "The Music City Miracle." At Utah, Dyson was also known for a named play, catching the game-winning touchdown (The Catch) in the 1994 Freedom Bowl, a 16-13 victory over Arizona.
