Utah football received a verbal commitment Sunday from George Wilson. Wilson is a 6' 3", 185 pound wide receiver/safety out of Tustin, California.
Wilson is the type of player that could easily be flipped from one side of the ball to the other based on his 6' 3" frame. Wilson has great size for either a tall wide receiver, or a safety/corner back. Currently, Hudl.com has Wilson's speed listed as a 4.6 in the 40-yard dash.
Speed on the permitter and at the skill positions is once again an emphasis this recruiting class, and that's easy to see with the commits to date. Wilson is the sixth wide receiver or athlete that Utah has received commitments from, joining Brandon Snell (WR), Donzale Roddie (WR), Justice Murphy (WR), Michael Jacquet (ATH), and Tuli Wily-Matagi (ATH).
Here is the Hudl footage from Wilson's junior season. You'll see him playing at both safety and wide receiver. As a safety he makes some great form tackles, and as a wide out he shows the ability to stretch the field.
