Utah backup quarterback, Adam Schulz has decided to transfer out of the program. Schulz plans on graduating and transferring to Houston to play his senior season.
Schulz started the final three games against Oregon, Washington State and Colorado in the 2013 season after starter Travis Wilson missed the remainder of the year due to injury. During that stretch, he threw for 1008 yards, 6 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.
Schulz was lost in the mix of a deep quarterback position, and fell all the way off the depth chart to open the 2014 season. Many actually thought Schulz may leave before this last season to play at a school like Weber State, but he stuck out the season and will be able to play his final year
Here is the official release from Utah Athletics:
Utah coach Kyle Whittingham has confirmed that quarterback Adam Schulz is transferring to Houston. Schulz, who was a junior in eligibility this past season, played in eight games in his Utah career. His sole 2014 appearance was in the Las Vegas Bowl, when he completed both of his pass attempts for 31 yards. In his career, he completed 79-of-158 passes for 1,091 yards and six touchdowns (five interceptions).
