Utes Gain a Commit and Lose a Commit

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

With signing day rapidly approaching, the battle for recruits is really starting to heat up. After a busy Sunday where Utah picked up two Florida commits, Monday has been just as busy.

Earlier in the day Utah had one of their long time commits, Taylor Thomas, a three star rated (according to Rivals.com) running back from Jacksonville, Florida, switch his commitment to Oregon State. Taylor, at only 5' 8'', and 180 pounds, would have had a challenge to crack the Utes running back depth chart, but showed promise.

Within a few hours, the Utes received some good news with the commitment of Kevin Dixon, Jr. Dixon is a 6' 6", 275 pound offensive tackle out of Buena Park, California. The three star rated tackle adds more depth at o-line, which is helpful, especially with Jeremiah Poutasi leaving for the NFL Draft.

Our friend, Alex Markham of Utezone.com, was one of the first to break the new addition to the 2015 class, and also teases Dixon may bring a friend.
