Podcast Discussion: Runnin' Utes Take on Colorado

We preview the matchup with the Buffalos of Colorado.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Do you smell the rivalry in the air? The anticipation of the Rocky Mountain Rivalry, between Utah and Colorado is palpable! (OK, so it's not, but it should be a fun game up at the Huntsman Center tonight!)

But before tonight's game tips off, in today's episode of The U Fan Cast, we look back at the past weekend, and the absolute demolishing that the Utes put on the Southern California schools. Watching and listening to the games this past weekend, it was like the Utes were playing AAU teams. It's one thing for Utah to run a Division 2 team off the floor like they've done the past couple of seasons, but to run fellow Pac-12 teams off the floor like that - not once but twice - is quite a statement. The amazing thing was while UCLA lost to Kentucky by about 100 points, Utah held UCLA to a lower score output than Kentucky did. We talk about how the return of Jordan Loveridge, and how the improvement of the young guys really put the So Cal teams in a corner, and eventually ran them out of the gym.

Looking toward to the matchup versus CU, the Buffs are still trying to find that player that will fill the void Spencer Dinwiddie left when he went down last season. On top of that, Colorado's center, and possibly most important player, Josh Scott may or may not play, and that would be a huge loss for the Buffs. With the inconsistency of CU, and the reemergence of Jordan Loveridge post surgery, it may be a long night for the Buffs at the reborn Huntsman Center. We talk about all those points, and so much more on today's podcast - give it a listen!
