Utah Football Moves up to No. 3 in AP, Stays at No.7 in Coaches

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

After another big win for the Utah football team on Saturday night over Arizona State, the Utes moved to 6-0 (3-0 Pac-12) on the season. Utah was just barely behind TCU last week in the AP Poll, and they leap frogged the Frogs (see what I did there) this week to move up to No. 3.

That leads to the question, what are the Coaches watching in the Coaches Poll? It appears that the SIDs and the assistants that are filling out the polls for the coaches need to watch some more football, or maybe stay up at 10 pm Eastern time.

The Pac-12 is struggling this season with five out of the six teams who were ranked in the preseason now unranked. The Pac-12 currently has three ranked teams, No. 3 Utah, No. 10 Stanford, and No. 20 Cal. UCLA fell out of the rankings after getting blown out 56-35 at Stanford.

The SEC leads all conferences with five ranked teams. The ACC, Big Ten, and Big 12 all have four ranked teams. The Pac-12 and the American each have three ranked teams. The MAC has one ranked team, and one independent (Notre Dame) is ranked.

Here's the complete poll:
