Utah Football Post-Practice Audio

BlockU was able to get interviews after practice with head coach Kyle Whittingham , safeties coach Morgan Scalley , and linebacker Gionni Paul . (Click on the names for the audio.) One topic that was covered with all three is the matchup against former coaches with four former Utah coaches now on staff in Corvallis.

Scalley is a man of many hats at Utah. He coaches safeties and special teams, and he is the recruiting coordinator. Scalley was asked about recruiting this year a d the recruits that flipped from Utah to OSU last year. He also talks about Chase Hansen's play at safety. Teams have been coming after Tom Hackett and his rugby-style punts of late, and Scalley was asked about any potential scheme changes to combat that.

With Paul, the interview covered the state of the linebackers without Jared Norris, the loss to USC, the matchup with Oregon State especially the matchup against Oregon State dual-threat quarterback Seth Collins, facing his former defensive coordinator and position coach in Kalani Sitake, and a little on Paul's former team, Miami, who fired head coach Al Golden after a 58-0 loss to Clemson. Paul played for Golden when he was a Cane. Paul is always a joy to interview and has great things to say.
