Utah Non-Revenue Sports Update

We go Around the Hill to look at the week that was for the non-revenue sports and take a look at this week's match ups. Many of the Utah non-revenue sports will be hosting ranked Pac-12 foes this week. Utah softball will have their Red and White Scrimmage on Monday and Tuesday next week. One Ute won a Pac-12 player of the week honor for her strong performance last week.

Utah softball will have their Red and White Scrimmage on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Utah women's basketball will attend Pac-12 Media Days next week (Oct. 14). They opened practice this week under new head coach Lynne Roberts. They will also host Brunchin' with the Utes on Saturday (Oct. 10).

The Utah women's soccer (5-4-3, 2-1-0 Pac-12) had a successful trip to Oregon, beating both Oregon and Oregon State last week. With two shutouts, Utah goalkeeper Lindsey Luke was named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week last week. Competition ramps up this week when No. 21 Washington State and No. 19 Washington make the trip to Ute Field for matches on Friday and Sunday respectively.

After winning their Pac-12 opener against Colorado at home, the Utah volleyball (7-8, 1-3 Pac-12) team has dropped three straight on the road, falling to Washington State, Oregon State, and No. 22 Oregon. Things do not get any easier for the team with No. 12 UCLA coming to Salt Lake tomorrow and No. 1 USC on Sunday.

Utah men's tennis wrapped up play at the ITA All-American Championship. Parker McGuiness was the last Ute left in the tournament, but he fell to Stjepan Sisko (Toledo) in the first round of the qualifying draw. The Utes are back in action this week at the Idaho State Invitational, Fri. Oct. 9 - Sun., Oct. 11. Utah women's tennis completes qualifying rounds at ITA Championships. The team has a week off before heading to the ITA Regionals in Las Vegas from Wed.-Sun., Oct. 14-18.
