The Utah Runnin' Utes mens basketball team is ranked No. 16 in the preseason AP Poll. They are also ranked No. 16 in the preseason Coaches Poll as well. Like the Coaches Poll, there are three ranked Pac-12 teams: No. 12 Arizona, No. 14 California, and No. 16 Utah. Both polls and the preseason Pac-12 media poll have predicted the Runnin' Utes to finish third. Arizona is the defending Pac-12 Champions and always bring in a ton of talent in every recruiting class. Cal may seem like a weird choice for the No. 2 spot in the Pac-12 after finishing 7-11 last season in the Pac-12, but they brought in two five-star recruits: small forward Jaylen Brown and power forward Ivan Rabb.
