Utah Football: Utes Drop to No. 24 in College Football Playoff Rankings

The regular season is over, and the Utes now await their bowl destination, which we should know in less than a week. Tuesday night, the College Football Playoff Committee released the second to last Playoff rankings of the season. The Utes fell one spot to No. 24 after beating the Colorado Buffalos this past weekend to wrap up a 9 win regular season, 6 wins in the Pac-12.

At this point the rankings don't mean a lot for the Utes, except some bowls may decide on who goes where based on the rankings. As of now, due to some rumors, it sounds like it's between the Holiday Bowl, the Foster Farms Bowl and the Sun Bowl as likely destinations for the Utes. A lot of that will be determined based on how the Pac-12 Championship Game goes between USC and Stanford on Saturday, and if the Pac-12 gets Playoff representative, or maybe two New Years Six Bowl Game representatives.

Here are the full rankings.
