The 2016 football schedule was announced Tuesday afternoon by the Pac-12 conference, so you can plan on the regular six home and six road games, as opposed to the seven game home schedule we saw this season. The highlights of the schedule includes USC coming to SLC on a Friday night (ESPN matchup anyone?). Utah's first trip to California Memorial Stadium the next week will be an interesting trip, as it's their first trip there since joining the conference. Utah looks to get the Rich Rod monkey off their back October 8th at Rice-Eccles, and Oregon returns to SLC on November 19th.
One key stretch that jumps out already is the USC / @ Cal / Arizona swing. If Utah can start strong in the Pac-12, they set themselves up very well. It's a challenging scheduled, and if Utah can get the offense built, they should be able to put themselves in a position for contention, once again. This will be an interesting spring and off season, as Utah is bringing in some promising talent, including QB Troy Williams, and another infusion of speed from Florida.
